Srinivas Pallia was named Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Wipro Limited on Saturday, effective immediately, as per the exchange filing on BSE. Pallia will take over as CEO of Wipro from Thierry Delaporte, who left the position after four years in order "to pursue passions outside the workplace." Based in New Jersey, Srinivas Pallia will answer to Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji. Srinivas Pallia: who is he? Serving as the CEO of Wipro's strategic market, Americas 1, for more than thirty years, was Srinivas Pallia. As to the BSE filing, Pallia held the position of CEO and was responsible for supervising various industry sectors. He also set their vision and executed growth strategies, which led to a rise in market shares within these sectors. Srini belongs to the Wipro team. He began working at Wipro in 1992 and rose through the ranks to become President of the company's Consumer Business Unit and Global Head of Business Application Services. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore with a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's degree in management studies. The new CEO of Wipro is a graduate of the McGill Executive Institute's Advanced Leadership Program and the Harvard Business School's Leading Global Businesses executive program. In addition, he is a part of the Wipro Inclusion & Diversity Council and Group Executive Council.
